James He

James He is co-founder and CEO of Artificial Societies. At Cambridge, he researched human behaviour using data science and agent-based simulation. In 2023, James led the first peer-reviewed paper on large agent swarms that studied a society of 33,000 agents. He now guides the company’s overall deployment strategy and foundational research.

Co-founder and CPO

Patrick Sharpe

Patrick Sharpe is co-founder and CPO of Artificial Societies, responsible for its product strategy and development. He previously designed behavioural experiments and conducted customer research at ReAssure and Swiss Re’s iptiQ. That experience informs his work at AS, where he develops tools for testing ideas and understanding the choices people make.

Tom Whittle

Tom Whittle is Co-Founder and CTO of Artificial Societies. He oversees the engineering of its simulation platform and works with the product and design teams to develop its capabilities. Before AS, Tom worked in consultancy before learning to code and working at growing startups.

Head of Research

Felix Wallis

Felix Wallis develops the machine learning and evaluation methods behind Artificial Societies’ simulations. As Head of Research, his work examines how to accurately model human behaviour. Felix co-authored the first agent swarms paper with James and studied online community simulation while completing his Social Data Science MSc at Oxford.

Forward Deployed Engineer

Min Jung

Min Jung is a Forward Deployed Engineer at Artificial Societies, where he helps clients use simulations to inform some of their most consequential decisions. A former Fulbright grantee and Google Policy Fellow, he has worked across AI safety and public policy and holds an MSc from Oxford.

Jess Toudic

Jess Toudic is the Founding Designer at Artificial Societies, responsible for its product and brand design. She studied mathematics at Oxford and spent four years in software engineering before moving into design. Before joining AS, she worked on AI interfaces including Strawberry’s agentic browser.

Principal Client Strategist

Linda Wei

Linda Wei advises clients on the use of simulation in financial services, M&A and capital markets. As Principal Client Strategist at Artificial Societies, she works across research, strategy and delivery. She holds a DPhil in Experimental Psychology from Oxford and previously advised private equity firms on acquisitions, growth and exits.

Ayman El Mezgueldi

Ayman El Mezgueldi is Head of Strategy and Operations at Artificial Societies, overseeing company operations, strategic initiatives and commercial partnerships. He was previously an early team member at Convergence, where he worked across finance, product and operations through its acquisition by Salesforce.

Jack Hickman

Jack Hickman is Client Strategy Lead at Artificial Societies, specialising in corporate affairs. He works with clients to assess how stakeholders may respond to policy, communications and reputational challenges. Previously, Jack advised companies and investors at FTI Consulting and Montfort Communications, with a focus on reputation, strategy and campaigns.

Egor Vert

Egor Vert is a Product Engineer at Artificial Societies. He develops the company’s products and led the engineering of its new website. Before AS he worked at Brightside AI, a Swiss cybersecurity startup, where he led the development of their voice phishing platform.

Forward Deployed Engineer

Edoardo Chidichimo

Edoardo Chidichimo works on the application and evaluation of social simulations as a Forward Deployed Engineer at Artificial Societies. His research spans computational neuroscience and information theory, with a particular interest in the beliefs and behaviours that structure human sociality. He holds an MPhil and BA from the University of Cambridge, where he founded the Cambridge Journal of Human Behaviour, and has since completed his doctoral research at Oxford University.

Forward Deployed Engineer

Peter Tiborcz

Peter Tiborcz develops and deploys simulation technology as a Forward Deployed Engineer at Artificial Societies. He holds an MSc in Applied Social Data Science from the London School of Economics, and his experience includes building data pipelines, analytics systems and AI applications. At AS, he works across the technical stages of a project, from defining requirements to delivering a working product.

Fergus Inns

Fergus Inns leads creative direction, design, and brand at Artificial Societies. He’s currently also part of the founding team of Virgin’s next venture in intercontinental rail travel, and regularly advises and works with several FTSE-100 companies on the future of design.
